Michael Cook

Michael Cook, at the age of 55, made the decision to write a book reflecting on his life. Originally born in Astoria, Queens, he has lived in various places across the United States, including New Jersey, Washington, Utah, California, and Hawaii. Married happily for nearly 29 years, he and his wife experienced a traditional family life, living the American dream with a spacious house, four wonderful children (one boy and three girls), and two grandchildren.
Throughout most of his life, Michael has been a business owner, starting from a young age. His initial venture was a franchise location in the rent-to-own industry. After five years, he obtained a general contractor license and established a multi-million-dollar construction business. Later on, he ventured into the food business, acquiring a healthy-based smoothie shop and transforming it into a health food restaurant.
Despite the wealth of life experiences, Michael finds himself grappling with the concept of officially becoming a senior citizen at the age of fifty-five. Concerns about health, finances, and age-appropriate activities have become more prevalent. He acknowledges the overwhelming thoughts and challenges, prompting him to adopt the practice of making checklists to bring order and clarity to his mind. These checklists not only serve as a form of self-therapy for Michael but also aim to provide guidance for others navigating the transition into the next chapter of life as senior citizens.
